General Membership

Membership is open to all fans, writers, and publishing professionals. There are two levels of membership: Active and Associate.

Active Membership

An active member has sold one or more stories with a Private Investigator as the protagonist.

Associate Membership

An Associate Member is typically someone involved with the publishing and/or sale of PI fiction, or in some cases a writer who is actively writing PI fiction for sale but has not yet sold a PI story. Note that sales of mystery novels and short stories that do not have a PI as the protagonist do not qualify one for active membership. The story that has been sold must have a PI as the protagonist.

Please enclose payment for the first year’s membership dues.
($60 for active, $50 for associate).

In order to synchronize memberships, all new and renewed Active and Associate Memberships will be valid through the end of 2026.
